Start with the right game.
The Loopler is Mheep’s slot-car roguelite deckbuilder. Its Steam page describes card choices, track-mounted gates and passive charms as the main parts of a build. Official source
Use the Steam listing for the release, or the developer’s itch.io page for the browser demo. The demo and release have different published content scopes; check the comparison before following an older guide.
Three systems to recognise.
Cards / your chosen effects
Cards can alter multipliers or trigger other effects. Think of their descriptions as the starting point for an experiment, rather than assuming every card works the same way.
Gates / a place on the loop
Tracks provide slots for gates, and the developer highlights placement order as part of building combinations. Record the sequence, not just the gate names.
Charms / passive changes
Charms add passive effects to a run. Include them in your notes so you do not attribute every change to a card or gate.

Your first session: make it observable.
EDITORIAL NOTE-TAKING WORKFLOW
Give the session a version.
Write down whether you played the web demo, Steam demo or full release. Add the build number if the game displays it. “Demo” alone may not explain which rules you observed.
Record the starting conditions.
Put the car, track and difficulty in the journal. Copy the item names as you see them in your game. Missing information is better marked as unknown than reconstructed from memory.
Ask one narrow question.
For example: what changed after you moved a gate? Keep separate notes for what you expected and what happened. One run is an observation, not proof of a universal rule.
Leave a next step.
Record an outcome in your own words and one thing to repeat or change. The journal does not calculate a score or inspect your game save; it simply keeps your account of the experiment.

This first edition is based on the official pages linked here, not a completed playthrough. It does not establish specific item values, trigger timing, a strongest build or a route to infinity. Read the current in-game descriptions for exact rules.
Useful follow-up evidence would include a version number, item text, the setup before a change and the result after it. We will label any future tested guide separately from this orientation.
